Artifex Reno

Renovation is a trade. We treat it like one.

Artifex Reno is run by Nazar Popov, a craftsman trained in the European tradition, based in Mississauga and working across Toronto and the GTA. No sales layer, no rotating subcontractors. The person who quotes your project is the person responsible for how it's built.

What We Build

Four disciplines, one standard.

Bathroom Transformations

Full gut-to-finish bathrooms: waterproofing done right, tile set level, fixtures that don't wiggle in a year.

Custom Carpentry & Millwork

Built-ins, panelling, trim, and cabinetry made to the millimetre, not "close enough."

Structural Interiors

Wall removals and reconfigurations with the engineering handled properly and permits respected.

Full-Scale Remodeling

Whole-floor and whole-home renovations delivered under one accountable roof.

Why Our Work Lasts

Most contractors hope you never look under the tile.

We photograph it. Every wet area gets a full Schluter waterproofing system, every floor gets uncoupling membrane, and every tile goes down on a leveling system before a single finished surface is visible. This is the part of the job you're actually paying for.

Waterproofing, not caulkingFull-membrane Schluter systems in every wet area, the difference between a bathroom and a future leak.
Levelled, tile by tileMechanical leveling on every install. Lippage you can catch a fingernail on doesn't leave our sites.
Built, not bodgedCurbless showers and custom build-ups engineered from the substrate up, not improvised on install day.

The Artifex Method

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. 01

    Walkthrough

Nazar visits the space, measures, and listens. Straight answers about what's possible and what it costs.

  2. 02

    Fixed Scope

A written scope with materials, timeline, and price. The number you approve is the number you pay.

  3. 03

    The Build

One crew, European technique, a site kept clean enough to live in. Updates without chasing.

  4. 04

    The Handover

A final walkthrough against the original scope, line by line. Finished when you say it is.

What Clients Say

Word travels.

Our bathroom was gutted down to the studs and back in three and a half weeks, exactly what we were told at the walkthrough. Nazar's crew showed up on time every day and the tile work is better than what we had in the showroom sample.

Diane R., Mississauga

The quote we signed was the number we paid, no surprise add-ons halfway through like the last contractor we used. Nazar walked us through exactly what was behind the walls before he closed anything up.

Marco T., Etobicoke

We stayed in the house the entire renovation and honestly barely noticed. Floors were swept every night, everything was taped off, and our kids never once got into the dust.

Priya S., North York

Straight Answers

What homeowners ask first.

What does a renovation cost?

Every project gets a fixed written quote after a walkthrough — materials, timeline, and price in writing before work starts. The number you approve is the number you pay. No vague ballparks, no allowances that balloon later.

How long will it take?

You'll have the exact schedule in your written scope before demolition starts, and one crew sees it through — no waiting weeks for the next subcontractor to show up.

Do you handle permits and engineering?

Yes. Where structural work needs permits or stamped drawings, we arrange them. If a wall is coming out, it comes out with an engineer's sizing, not a guess.

Can we live at home during the work?

In almost every case, yes. Dust control, daily cleanup, and a site kept in order — a renovation shouldn't mean moving out of your own house.

Start with a walkthrough.

Tell us what you’re planning and where. Nazar comes to see the space, talks it through with you, and follows up with a written scope and a real number.
